RSS Feeds

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.

Also called web feeds, RSS is a content delivery vehicle. It is the format used when you want to syndicate news and other web content. When it distributes the content it is called a feed. For example, a columnist writes one column and it is published in many newspapers in order to reach a much wider audience.

Adding Gadgets (or Widgets)

Click on the LAYOUT tab.


Depending on the blogging service you use, you'll hear the term Gadget or Widget. These are just add-ons to enhance your website. There are 20 gadgets available with Blogger. These gadgets usually appear to the left or right side of your blog (depending on the template you choose). Here's a few...



Step 11. RSS Feeds

Adding an Image or Video

You can add images and video to your posts.
Use for images and for videos.
Click in your blog post, then click the appropriate icon.



Add the image. Usually, it's a picture from your digital camera so you'll use the BROWSE feature. But you may find photos online as well. You can save them to your computer and use the BROWSE feature or, if they have a unique URL, you can use that instead. But beware, if the original image gets deleted, it will be deleted from your post too.

Edit Your Posts


When you're typing your post, use the formatting buttons to add bold, italize and underline attributes. You can even add links to your page. Don't forget to SAVE your blog so you can publish it later. Or if you're done, click PUBLISH POST.

Creating Your First Post

You can blog about anything you want. Make it something interesting to you. When you're finished click PUBLISH POST and go to step
